The future of health IT is here, today – all in one place at the HIMSS Innovation Center. In this setting at the Global Center for Health Innovation, individuals, families and healthcare providers send, receive, find and use electronic health information in a manner that is appropriate, secure, timely and reliable.
Now, HIMSS, as one of 14 collaborating organizations, joins the Medical Capital initiative, a rebranding effort to showcase a 21-county area of Northeast Ohio, centered in Cleveland and focused on healthcare and biomedical innovation. The expanded Medical Capital website includes a new video highlighting insights from members of the Cleveland medical and healthcare communities, with more information on Twitter and LinkedIn.
“As part of the Medical Capital initiative, HIMSS understands and acts on the need for ongoing innovation to advance better, safer and improved access to quality patient care,” said Carla Smith, MA, FHIMSS, CNM, executive vice president, HIMSS. Smith is also chair of the Global Center’s Executive Advisory Council. “The HIMSS Innovation Center in Cleveland is a neutral setting for interoperability services and innovation. Here, anyone interested in transforming health and healthcare with the best use of IT can interact with technology solutions from >our more than 20 collaborators. We are proud to join the more than 700 companies in Northeast Ohio area focused on the future of the health sector.”
